truth, joy, life

Three words changing my heart right now

Welcome to the truth, joy, life blog. These three words are changing my heart.

Truth, joy and life. These things have deeply marked the last several years for me.

I have always been drawn to the truths of scripture, but realizing I can never plumb its depths or live its call without being in it consistently has been convicting.

Joy has often seemed just out of reach. But it is something that can be fought for and won. It is a fruit of the spirit that’s already in us, but needs discipline to be cultivated. I have to choose to find joy in the small, everyday moments.

The most beautiful and audacious though has been accepting the grace to live in Christ’s new mercies each day.

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Lamentations 3:21-26

We have the opportunity to accept fresh mercies each and every morning, no matter the day before and its struggles. And when we do, we have the ability to extend that grace and mercy to those around us. Giving life instead of trudging through it.

These things have so marked me that I am listening to the Lord’s still, small voice telling me to share them. So this is that place. I hope you find encouragement and joy here and can resonate with not only the struggles but the victories too.
