About

a little about me

Hello!

Hi! I'm Whitney, and I'm so thankful you're here. That you took time out of your day to stop by this page is a joy to my heart! I hope you find a place that's encouraging.

I currently live in my hometown of Jonesboro, Arkansas, with my husband, Tony, and three (yes, three!) sons, Crews, Coen and Liam. You can typically find me wearing several hats including the two most difficult, but wonderful—wife and mother. I have a day job as the Marketing Director for a local community bank and run this small creative space, along with my Etsy shop, Flourish Art Co. I am always looking for time to write, read, draw or paint—although those times can be few and far between.

I am passionate about art and design, and have always loved to create. From the time I was a little girl I was drawn to art and writing (thanks Lisa Frank notebooks), and even wrote a *very* short novel, now hidden away somewhere in my parent's attic. I have a creative, Type A personality which lends itself well to my love of writing and design, and has led to a 10+ year career in Marketing & Communications. I get to be creative and organized in each, which could easily describe my personality. I love bringing clarity to a project through creativity, and blending creativity with practicality to achieve an end goal is my sweet spot.

There is beauty to be found in ordering chaos and grace in the mess it takes to get there.

I also love investing in the lives of women in the Church, and have served in women's ministry for many years. I have a sincere desire to see women embrace the Bible and see the beauty of the Gospel in their own lives. My personal blog is a mix of my desire for truth, my fight for joy, and things I learn in my everyday life, from work to parenting to marriage and everything in between. I am continuing to learn what joy, grace and life abundantly really look like, and what God has to teach me in marriage, family, the Church, and my walk with Him. All that can really be said is, thank goodness for new mercies. I pray you've seen beauty in the mundane today, and are reminded to give yourself permission to be imperfectly in progress.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

his mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness."

Lamentations 3:22-23

I must also admit that I am a true Southerner, from the accent to my love of sweet tea.
